Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 9th October 2025
Last updated: 1st February 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to VDI Check Ltd ("we", "us", "our").
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services at https://vdicheck.com ("the Service").
By ordering or using our Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. About us
VDI Check Ltd
Registered in England and Wales
Company number: 15451937
Registered office: 5 Brayford Square, London, England, E1 0SG.
Email: help@vdicheck.com
We provide online vehicle history and stolen-status reports ("Reports") based on registration numbers or VINs supplied by you.
3. Nature of the service
The Service provides one-time vehicle reports for a fee.
- You do not need to create an account to use the Service.
- Each Report is generated automatically from third-party and official data sources. Vehicle finance data is provided by Experian Limited. Vehicle description, keeper and registration data is sourced from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) and other officially licensed sources. Stolen vehicle data is sourced from the Police National Computer (PNC). Insurance write-off data is sourced from the Motor Insurance Anti-Fraud and Theft Register (MIAFTR).
- We store only your email address and the Report we generate so that we can send you the result and verify your purchase if needed later.
4. Accuracy and limitations
- Our Reports are based on data supplied by external sources.
- We do not control or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of that data.
- Reports are for information only and should not replace professional mechanical or legal inspection.
- You are responsible for how you use the information provided.
5. Payment and delivery
- Payment is required in full before a Report is generated.
- Prices are shown clearly before purchase and include VAT (where applicable).
- Once payment is successful, your Report will be delivered automatically to the email address you provided.
- Delivery times are usually within minutes, but may vary if external data sources are slow or temporarily unavailable.
6. Refunds and cancellations
Because each Report is created instantly and specifically for the vehicle you request, it cannot be cancelled or refunded once delivered, except:
- If we are unable to deliver the Report at all; or
- If the Report is materially incorrect due to an error on our part (not the data sources).
Refunds are handled fairly and in accordance with UK consumer law.
7. Use of reports
You may use the Report for your own personal purposes only, in connection with assessing the provenance, history and status of the vehicle identified in the Report. You must not:
- Resell, redistribute, publish or otherwise make available to any third party any data contained within a Report;
- Use the data in a Report to create, contribute to, or populate any database, directory or mailing list;
- Store or cache any data from a Report for the purpose of serving or fulfilling future enquiries;
- Claim ownership or modify the Report's contents;
- Use the Service for illegal or fraudulent purposes.
The data contained within Reports is provided under licence from third-party data providers including Experian Limited and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). All intellectual property in the Reports, the data contained within them, and the website belongs to VDI Check Ltd or our data partners. Your right to use the Report data is limited to the purposes set out above.
7A. Third-party data terms
Our Reports incorporate data supplied under licence from third-party providers. The following terms apply to your use of that data:
- Finance data: Vehicle finance data is provided by Experian Limited. This data is supplied for the sole purpose of assessing whether the vehicle identified in your Report is subject to any outstanding finance agreement. You may not use finance data for any other purpose. Finance data must not be provided to any third party.
- DVLA data: Vehicle description, registration, keeper history, plate change and related data is sourced from the DVLA and is subject to the terms of the Open Government Licence where applicable. DVLA data is provided for the purpose of verifying vehicle identity, provenance and history. You must not use DVLA data to identify or contact any individual.
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): Where a partial VIN is displayed in your Report, this is provided solely to assist in confirming the identity of the vehicle. The VIN must not be used for any purpose other than vehicle identification.
- General: All third-party data is provided on an "as is" basis and represents an accurate copy of information held by the relevant source at the time of the enquiry. Data providers' terms may be updated from time to time. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any such changes.
8. Liability and disclaimers
- The Service and Reports are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
- We are not liable for decisions, losses, or damages arising from your use of the information, except where required by law.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the relevant Report.
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any matter that cannot be excluded under UK law.
9. Data protection and privacy
We only store:
- Your email address (for delivering your Report and providing proof of purchase), and
- The Report we generated (for verification and customer support).
We do not store payment card data — all payments are processed securely by our payment provider.
Our processing of personal data complies with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
You may request deletion of your email and stored Report at any time by contacting privacy@vdicheck.com.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may choose to bring proceedings in your local courts.
11. Changes to these Terms
